Poetry I like
BEFORE UNIT
I think poetry can be boring at times but, sometimes its fascinating. Poetry is a way to express what you feel in words which in a book you can not do. A poem is something you must decipher, its meaning doesn't just come to you in a matter of seconds. It takes time, but in the end your given something beautiful and unique. Once you've taken your time, you notice that poem can have few meanings to it. Those meanings are just the way you interpret it. I don't like Shakespeare because even though he is widely regarded as the greatest writer, he's just boring. I like more simply poetry, poetry that was written in the modern times.
AFTER UNIT
I've read 20 poems and I've noticed that poetry is actually really interesting. Poetry is complex with its diction, tone and mood. Some poems straight away give you the meaning, but in other poems you actually have to look for the meaning. I thought that Shakespeare was boring, but now that I've read Sonnet 130 I notice that he's actually interesting. I like it that poems can have similar meanings, but they have different ways to show it. Each poet can be interesting in his or her way. I judged a book by its cover without giving it a chance.
